The Holistic Pediatric Association is a
nonprofit educational organization that "unites parents and
health professionals in the common goal of improving and
transforming pediatric medicine into a safe, nurturing, and
sensible holistic health care system for children… through
seminars, conferences and online education."
Holistic pediatrics is defined as a
"practical approach to the philosophy of pediatric care that
focuses on the principles of health, wellness, and the safe
resolution of illness."
The HPA site includes a wide-ranging and
extensive collection of articles on many topics including
breastfeeding, holistic health care, nutrition, Oriental medicine,
pregnancy, birthing, newborn care, and vaccines. The site also
includes numerous popular parenting forums on many of the same
topics, plus attachment parenting, alternative education, and
emotional health. A very useful directory of holistic health
professionals can be searched by name, city, or state. HPA also
presents a weekly Internet radio talk show hosted by well-known
holistic professionals every Wednesday at 5 PM Eastern time.
